Detail
Why it is built this way
Two degrees is the whole game
A steak goes from right to ruined inside about 3 °F. This probe settles on a reading in 2–3 seconds to ±0.9 °F, so the pull happens when you meant it to, not one poke later.
Tested across 32–212 °F, the range where food actually cooks.

Rinse it. Drop it. Keep going.
The body is IP67 — run it under the tap, leave it in the sink, wipe it with a sanitizer wipe. The 304 stainless probe folds away with a lock so it does not stab the drawer.
Recalibration is ice water and one button hold. The method is published on the support page, because a thermometer you cannot check is a thermometer you cannot trust.
The full story
The difference between a good steak and a great one is about 3 °F. This probe reads in 2–3 seconds to ±0.9 °F, so you stop guessing and start pulling meat at the exact moment you meant to.
The whole body is IP67 — rinse it under the tap, drop it in a sink of suds, it is fine. The display rotates 180° and backlights automatically, and the probe folds away with a lock.
A recalibration function keeps it honest for years: ice water, hold the button, done. We publish the test method on our support page.
